Lacey and Larkin are not new to controversy as they are once again in court to answer to charges of running illegal activities through a site they owned known as Backpage.com. The site is accused of being involved in sex-related crimes. Lacey and Larkin were arrested on the same day the government seized the site. It is expected that they will deny the charges as they believe that they have acted according to the law. They see this as another attempt to violate the First Amendment by coming up with charges which cannot stand the test of time. Lacey and Larkin are hopeful that the new charges will collapse.
Lacey and Larkin are now facing 93-count charges. Some of them include money laundering. Although the issue of prostitution was alleged to be one of the things that they were being investigated on, such accusations are missing in the final charge sheet which was released by the prosecution.
Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin have addressed this issue as just one of the many which they have faced in the past. Unfortunately, the allegations leveled against them have been dismissed by the courts which have maintained that everything they were doing was within their rights.
